Poonam Pandey is an actor-model who recently faked her own death to raise awareness about cervical cancer. She posted a video on her Instagram account claiming that she had died of the disease, but later revealed that it was a hoax. She said that she wanted to draw attention to the issue and encourage women to get vaccinated.
However, her stunt backfired and drew criticism from many people, including celebrities, activists, and the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA). They accused her of trivializing death and making a mockery of a serious illness. They also demanded legal action against her and her husband Sam Bombay, who was involved in the plan.
A Mumbai resident named Faizan Ansari filed a defamation lawsuit against Pandey and bombay , seeking Rs 100 crore in damages. He also lodged a FIR with the Kanpur Police Commissioner, alleging that they had fabricated a false conspiracy of death and played with the emotions of millions of Indians and the Bollywood industry
